What is Triacetyluridine?

Triacetyluridine (also known as TAU) is a uridine supplement that is occasionally used as a nootropic supplement.* Uridine is a precursor of ribonucleic acid (RNA) and supports healthy functioning of the central nervous system. *

Research has found that Triacetyluridine activates the P2Y2 brain receptors. These receptors trigger activity from Nerve Growth Factor (NGF). Triacetyluridine enhances functioning in synaptic connections and neurons are able to communicate faster and more efficiently, thus supporting the idea that Triacetyluridine supplements may support brain health and cognitive function.

Triacetyluridine Benefits and Uses

    • May help promote feelings of well being*
    • May help support cognitive health*
    • May help promote healthy stress levels*

How is Triacetyluridine Different Than Uridine?

Research has shown that Triacetyluridine increases the bioavailability of uridine in the body. Some studies have shown that it has potential to increase neuroplasticity by raising the brain’s levels of nerve growth factor as well as support brain health. Typical uridine supplements tend to have low bioavailability and have weak solubility in fats. On the other hand, Triacetyluridine has superior lipid solubility and bioavailability compared to uridine.

Triacetyluridine and uridine tend to work well with lipids and phosphate groups. Triacetyluridine tends to behave synergistically with choline and fish oil to enhance mood. In fact, Harvard Medical School combined DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) and Omega-3 fatty acids with Triacetyluridine and found that the combination created a healthy emotional outlook in subjects.

Triacetyluridine is still being researched for its ability to promote feelings of well-being. A 6-week clinical study on human subjects concluded that TAU “improved overall mood of subjects”. Triacetyluridine is about 4-7 times more potent than uridine monophosphate. Triacetyluridine is also lipid soluble so it can only be taken orally and not sublingually. However, Triacetyluridine absorbs well with food in the stomach whereas with uridine monophosphate, the absorption with food is up for debate. Triacetyluridine is typically dosed between 25 and 50mg. A study looking at the relationship between uridine and omega-3 fatty acids when administered together found a synergistic effect in rats. The rats’ mobility rate increased. Both of these compounds administered together allowed for reduced dose sizes of each to achieve the desired effect.

Triacetyluridine Dosage

As a dietary supplement, take one 25mg Triacetyluridine capsule daily.

Posted by Mary Karish on 28th Jun 2022

It took a while for it to work, but it has been heaven sent in terms of sleeping through the night, eben when I get up to use the bathroom, I am able to go back to sleep.

    Triacetyluridine

Posted by Delmar on 11th Feb 2022

Was shipped quickly to my address by Nootropics Depot and although not as effective as i wanted, the fact that it had a noticeable effect is great. I have been struggling to sleep on time and need music playing to do virtually everything needed in daily life. I am able to go to sleep earlier, wake up early and do some tasks without having to sit for 15 minutes or more looking at it while waiting for the music to put in a good enough mood to start it. Planning on getting some alpha gpc to see if the effects improve when taking them together.

    TAU

Posted by Trish on 10th May 2021

I give this 4/5 because I haven't felt a noticeable difference since first taking it. However, I've been taking it every day for about a month, regardless of what racetam or other nootropic I take that day, so it's possible there are subtle effects I am just not noticing -- an illustration of why it's important to try nootropics individually, rather than immediately stacking them with other nootropics you've never tried! I will continue to take it and report back.

Amazing no fuss way to quit smoking cigarettes

Posted by Jason Nash on 16th Apr 2021

I was doing some research on this and saw the Reddit post about another ND customer's success in using this product to quit smoking. I thought it sounded too good to be true, but I can confirm: 1 of these in the morning and I don't even feel like smoking at all. I was a pack a day guy for more than 20 years and I've now been nicotine free for almost 30 days.

It didn't give me as much motivation and happiness that I hoped to achieve, but a very good nootropic.

    Shipping

Posted by Cheryl on 3rd Jan 2021

Happy with product , but took 33 calender days to arrive. Not cool ND Admin: Shipping to Canada has been having some delays because of the holidays and COVID restrictions. That's not a normal transit time for Canada. Things should calm down now that the holidays are over.

    Superior Product, Great Results!!

Posted by Jason L on 16th Dec 2020

I stack this with Fish oil, Alpha Gpc, Emoxypine and Fasoracetam (all from ND) and let me tell you that its a synergy made in heaven. I notice I have less brain fog and more motivation, energy and focus with Triactyluridine added to my stack. Since I take all of these together I use the smallest dose (1 capsule from each) which is all I need since they all work together to help intensify one another. I mostly got Triactyluridine because I heard it stacked well with Fish Oil and a Choline source, plus I wanted to see if its works to boost dopamine levels. Well it does all that and then some!! Like always. Nootropics Depot has superior products and I only trust buying from them. Shipping is fast and I like how its free if you spend more . Highly Recommended!!!

    Happy with it

Posted by DW on 3rd Aug 2020

I had never tried a uridine supplement before so decided to give this one a try after some research and reading reviews. I'm happy with it. I started stacking with fish oil and Alpha-GPC from ND to try the "Mr. Happy Stack" and the name says it all. This does tend to make me a little sleepy, which is why I started stacking it.

Very good for mood and motivation

Posted by Casey on 27th Apr 2020

Great for mood and motivation. I take with 1.5 grams of Krill oil and 25mg TAU. I do one month on and one off while continuing to do krill oil. Effects are very noticeable within 15-30minutes. I have tried dosing as much as 50mg, but for me it’s to high, producing heart palpitations. Only rating 4 stars due to reading possible heart and liver damage from supplementation of Uridine and experiencing major heart palpitations from 50mg. At 25mg I noticed very limited side effects other than some days getting a headache. It does dehydrate you.

This is the best way to slow the cigarette smoking

Posted by Sam Rubek on 22nd Apr 2020

I seriously attribute this and only this to my quitting smoking cigarettes. 1/day has given me the power to smoke less, and be satiated faster. Eventually, I lost the desire to smoke and just vaped nicotine, sparsely. This is amazing. Uridine is a baby compared to TAU/Triacetyluridine. I know ND can't make claims, but if I can help one person out there who smokes too many cigs like I did (at least a pack per day, and no, American Spirits is not an excuse, because natural tobacco has formaldehyde in it, so it's not "dangerous-chemical-free" just because it's additive-free), then please, take one of these every morning, and watch yourself slowly quit smoking. I wrote a Reddit post about this, look it up: search r/nootropics for "TAU smoking" or "Triacetyluridine smoking" and you will have a detailed post, all the details you need. Two of my friends and myself, we all quit smoking cigarettes entirely (prior smoking cigs and vaping together) by utilizing this. It indubitably works. Thank you, MYASD. You know I love you, nootbruhcrush. Peace, fam.
